Canadian Blue Emu Oil
Canadian Emu oil
Just like any other type of Emu oil, Canadian Emu oil is derived from the Emu bird, Dromaius novaehollandiae. This bird is native to Australia, but has accommodated very well to a life in Canadian farms. Commercial farming of Emu birds is a fairly new endeavour in Canada, but the Canadian producers have already managed to attract an interest from all over the world for their high-quality Canadian Emu oil. Canadian Emu oil is today not only used in Canada, but exported to other countries as well, including the United States and several European countries.
Is the difference between Canadian Emu oil and Australian Emu oil when it comes to anti-inflammatory properties?
As far as we know, there are no differences between Canadian Emu oil and Australian Emu oil. The differences we can see in Emu oil have more to with how the animal was raised and fed than its geographical location. The University of Massachusetts compared the anti-inflammatory potency of crude Emu oil from the United States and Australia, and found no differences between the two. The American Emu Association then did a bigger study which involved crude Emu oil from nine different countries, including Australian Emu oil, New Zealand Emu oil, Canadian Emu oil and, of course, United States Emu oil. The study found no significant difference between any of the nine samples. (It should however be noted that the study was carried out by the American Emu Association so the neutrality of the study can of course be questioned.
