Emu Oil Cosmetics

Emu oil is popular in cosmetics used by people with sensitive and irritated skin, since Emu oil is gentle and contains anti-inflammatory properties. Examples of popular Emu oil cosmetics include pore minimizers, anti-acne creams, Emu oil lipsticks, concealers, foundations and tanning creams.

It should however be stressed that no conclusive evidence regarding its alleged effects on humans has yet been derived from the UMass Lowell project and that much more research is necessary before anyone can say for sure how Emu oil cosmetics affects the human skin. What the UMass Lowell project has been able to unveil is how Emu oil actually contains anti-inflammatory properties; a fact which has been claimed by Emu oil proponents for decades. When tested on mice, Emu oil showed to be even more efficient on reducing inflammation than fish oil, a well known anti-inflammatory oil. While fish oil reduced thickness caused by inflammation by 55%, the Emu oil caused a 70% reduction. The research project has however only tested the Emu oil on mice, not on humans.
